video game genres

video games are used to categorize videogames based on their gamplay interaction rather than visual or narrative differences. A videogame genre is defined by a set of gameplay challenges. They are classified independent of their setting or game-world content, unlike other works of fiction such as films or books. For example, an action game is still an action game, regardless of weather it takes in a fantasy world or outer space. Within game studies there is a lack of concencus in reaching accepted formal definitions for games genres , some being more observed than others. like any tipycal taxonomy, a videogame genre requires certain constance. And there is a adventure game, adventure games are about running or either scaping or quest. Sport games are about running, shooting or any kinf of sport. Violence, is a game that you get to kill people and shoot. Educational games is for children its about learning.
